Today Preslee and I decided to skip the MOPS meeting in the park and take an hour drive to Shavers Creek to hike the trails, have lunch, and see the birds of prey. It was a gorgeous day, in the mid-seventies and sunny. We started off with taking a few pictures at the beginning of just us with my tripod.
Then we proceeded down the trail to the nature center to obtain a map of the trails. It was quite busy today, with a couple buses arriving right after us, so we skipped eating at the picnic benches and opted for a quick walk around the birds of prey cages and off to the boardwalk/lake trail. We were quite hungry so once we reached the boardwalk, we found a cool shaded place to sit down and eat our lunch.
We then went back to the boardwalk to get some pictures and look for animal life. Afterwards we continued walking through the trails and after an hour we decided it was time to hit the road so we would make it back home on time.
Next we stopped back at Greenwood Furnace to grab a map of the trails and take a few more pictures of us on our girly day out. I realized we were probably only 0.3 miles away from the tower on Monday!!! Goodness I am so bummed. lol Below are a bunch of pictures of our day together, just us girlies.
